Award Description
This award recognizes a CMSA Chapter that has demonstrated exceptional dedication to supporting the CMSA Foundation through impactful fundraising, promotion, and engagement efforts that advance the mission of the Foundation.
Eligibility
All CMSA Chapters in good standing are eligible.
Activities considered should have occurred within the previous calendar year.
Chapters may be nominated or may self-nominate.
Selection Philosophy
This award is intentionally flexible to allow the CMSA Foundation Board to recognize excellence in various forms. Chapters may distinguish themselves through fundraising, awareness, creativity, engagement, or a combination of efforts.
Evaluation Areas
The CMSA Foundation Board may consider any combination of the following contributions. Chapters do not need to excel in every area.
1. Fundraising Impact
Total funds raised for the CMSA Foundation.
Growth in fundraising year over year.
Innovative or effective fundraising initiatives.
2. Promotion & Awareness
Activities that increase visibility of the CMSA Foundation at the chapter and community level.
Integration of CMSAF messaging into chapter programming, newsletters, social media, or events.
Creative strategies used to educate members about Foundation initiatives.
3. Member Engagement
Number of chapter members involved in Foundation-supportive activities.
Efforts to foster enthusiasm and participation in fundraising or awareness events.
Partnerships or collaborations supporting CMSAF goals.
4. Initiative & Creativity
Unique storytelling or creative outreach efforts that elevate the Foundation.
Novel fundraising or promotional approaches that can serve as models for other chapters.
5. Overall Contribution to CMSAF Mission
How the chapter’s efforts advance the broader mission and values of the CMSA Foundation.
Demonstrated commitment to supporting case managers and the Foundation’s ongoing work.
Documentation
Chapters who are nominated for the award may be asked to provide a brief summary of their activities, including:
Fundraising totals (if applicable)
Description of initiatives
Promotional or engagement examples
Any measurable impact or outcomes
Submission Deadline
Nominations due by May 1
Email activity overview of your chapter’s impact for the year to foundation@cmsa.org
Selection Process
The CMSA Foundation Board will review qualifying chapters and may weigh the evaluation areas according to the quality and significance of the chapter's contributions.
The Board retains full discretion to select a chapter based on overall merit, exceptional achievement, or noteworthy impact.
Award to be presented annually at the CMSA Annual Conference.

2026 Chapter Impact Award
CMSA Chicago / Mid-America - recognized for their innovative and sustained commitment to advancing case management through philanthropy, education, and member engagement. Through a successful Walk-A-Thon, conference fundraising activities, ongoing Foundation awareness efforts, and a unique professional book initiative benefiting the Foundation, the chapter raised more than $6,000. Their integrated approach exemplifies how chapters can create lasting impact while strengthening the profession and supporting its future.
